Embedded Systems & IoT
Firmware, sensors, and connected devices that talk to the cloud
Hardware that senses the real world, and the software that turns those signals into something you can use.
I build embedded and IoT systems from the microcontroller up: reading sensors, driving actuators, and getting devices to report reliably over Wi-Fi, MQTT, or serial. My background is in Information & Communications Engineering, so the low-level side — timing, power, and flaky real-world networks — is familiar ground rather than guesswork.
Where it's most useful is the seam between hardware and the web: I connect devices to a backend and dashboard so you can see what your fleet is doing, collect data over time, and push updates without a truck roll. Because I also build the web and backend side, the device and the software that reads it are designed to fit together from day one.
Starting from
$4,500
per project · prototype builds scoped separately
The figure above is a starting point, not a fixed tier. Your quote depends on scope and complexity — the number of features, integrations, and how much already exists. After a short scoping call you get one fixed price for the whole project, or, for ongoing work, a monthly retainer. Larger builds are billed by milestone: a deposit to begin and the balance on delivery.
What’s included
Firmware for ESP32, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi class devices
Sensor and actuator integration with reliable I/O
Device-to-cloud messaging over MQTT, HTTP, or WebSocket
A backend and dashboard to monitor and control the fleet
Data collection, storage, and time-series views
Over-the-air updates and provisioning where the hardware allows
What you get
- Flashed, working firmware for your device
- A cloud backend and dashboard wired to it
- Documentation and a clear path to production
Ideal for
Teams putting a connected device in the field who need the firmware and the software behind it to fit together.

How it works
Scope
A short call to understand goals, users, and constraints, turned into a fixed plan, timeline, and quote.
Design
I shape the data model, architecture, and interface, with previews early so we agree before I build.
Build
Clear milestones with working previews throughout — clean, tested code and regular updates.
Launch & support
Deployment, monitoring, and handover, with post-launch support or a retainer when you need it.

Send me a short brief or just an idea. I’ll reply with a plan, a timeline, and clear next steps.
Embedded Systems & IoT: common questions
Do you build the hardware itself?
I work at the firmware and integration layer on off-the-shelf boards (ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and modules. For custom PCBs I partner with a hardware specialist and handle the firmware and cloud side.
Can the devices connect to a dashboard I can actually use?
Yes — that's the point. I connect devices to a backend over MQTT or HTTP and build a dashboard so you can see status, collect data over time, and control the fleet from one place.
What about updates once devices are in the field?
Where the hardware supports it, I set up over-the-air updates and provisioning so you're not physically touching each device to ship a fix.
